Dear Students,

It has been 75 years since the former concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz was liberated by the Allied forces. Within the framework of a study trip to Krakow from 28.02. to 07.03.2021 we would like to visit this historical place with you. During this week we would like to deal intensively with this important chapter of history, especially the Shoah. The excursion is organized by the AStA.

Due to the Corona pandemic and the associated planning uncertainty, changes may occur at any time. We will keep you up to date.

Travel to and from

We will depart from Hamburg with a coach on February 28 in the evening, so that we arrive in Krakow on March 1 in the morning. The trip home will then also take place overnight from March 6 to 7.

 

The procedure

• Visiting the Auschwitz Memorial and Auschwitz-Birkenau on 2 days
• Walking tours in Krakow-Kazimierz and the former Jewish ghetto of Krakow
• Eyewitness talk
• A tour on the theme of Jewish resistance
• Klezmer concert

These points will be accompanied by joint reflections. There will also be time and opportunity for individual leisure activities.

Application

The cost of participation for each participant is 100 euros. This includes the costs for the return journey, accommodation and breakfast as well as the entrance fees for the planned program points. If the trip cannot take place, you will be refunded your contribution.
People are different, please be aware that this trip can be challenging.
We want to make it possible for everyone who is interested to participate.

The deadline for registration is January 31, 2021.
You will receive a reply to your registration by February 15.
Only with the receipt of the registration confirmation the participation in the excursion is bindingly secured. A few days before the start of the trip there will be a Get-to-know meeting.
