Welcome to HAW! 

 

Despite the current situation, we would like to give you an overview of HAW and the possibilities to become active together with us and others. 

 

The university is democratically administered. As students we can have a say in everything. In the design of the study structure, but also in the content of seminars and lectures. The 68 student movement fought for this right. They fought for democracy and the social opening of the universities, demonstrated against the Vietnam War and swept the old fascists out of the educational institutions. They turned broad sections of society upside down. Since then, we students have been organized in the “Constituent Student Body,” which functions similar to a trade union. With events, actions and protest we can, following on from this history, work for change. So let’s get things moving together! 

 

Various working groups and initiatives are working to make topics such as sustainability, anti-fascism and social responsibility a stronger theme at the university and to integrate them into teaching, or are fighting for an improvement in the social situation of students. One of the organizations working on the critical study reform necessary for this is the Fachschaftsrätekonferenz (FSRK), to whose meetings everyone is cordially invited. 

 

The AGs (working groups) and initiatives are always happy to welcome new interested parties!
