NUR DAS LEBEN UND HANDELN ADELT UND ERHEBT." CLARA ZETKIN
Swing developed as a cultural resistance against racism and social oppression in the 20th years. In the Nazi era, it was considered a provocation and was banned because he was incompatible with breeding and order. However, that did not diminish the fascination of many. On the contrary: The provocation of many swing kids became resistance, which consisted of listening to their music, dancing and living a solidary alternative. Some of them joined active resistance. Instead of hierarchical structures, playing in bigbands or dancing is all about acting together at eye level.
We want to promote this with the dance classes on the campus and enjoy the dance together! Everyone is invited to come!
The dancing lessons (free of charge) will take place from 15th to 25th of January at various faculties of the HAW.
