Dear students, members from initiatives or active people from the city,

In the last few days, information on how to deal with the new corona virus has been overflowing. In this situation it is important for all of us to keep a clear head.
There is a lot of half-knowledge going around, unclear statements unsettle or lead to selfish hamster purchases of e.g. disinfectant, which is then missing in hospitals where it is urgently needed.
The so-called "social distancing" is one of the most effective methods to slow down the spread of a pandemic. Nevertheless, the occasional retreat into the private sphere and "everyone takes care of themselves" is not a solution. We call on you - show solidarity. Worry about your elderly neighbours, friends, and support those working in hospitals and care institutions. If you follow the hygiene rules, this is possible.
The crisis also highlights what was already problematic before: underfunded hospitals, lack of staff, precarious and badly paid working conditions, everyday racism... That is why we cannot stop talking about these problems and continue to fight to overcome them. Especially as a scientific institution we have a lot of (still unused) potential.
Everyone can do something in this time! And maybe we all can use the time that the postponed courses bring us in a meaningful way.

Since we also have to react to the situation and close the general student committee for the time being, here is some important information on how we can still be reached:

Closure of the building - office, financial, information desk, consultation
We would like to inform you that the premises of the general student committee will be closed until April 20th 2020. You can still reach us by email. The Bafög(Financial aid for students)- und Rechtsberatung(Legal advice) can also be reached by email.
The processing of your submitted bills could take a little longer, please be patient!
The premises of the general student committee can not be used by other student groups until April 20th.

Rentals
The rental of the cars/equipment will not take place until April 20th Unfortunately, we have to cancel already decided rentals, we will not process new applications for the time being.
Currently rented equipment cannot be returned. Please contact the office of the general student committee about a later return.

Meetings
We are working on a solution to hold general student committee meetings online. As soon as this is possible - and can be opened for guests - we will inform you.
